How We Rate
We evaluate and recommend payday lenders based on transparent criteria that prioritize speed, accessibility, and fair terms for New Brunswick borrowers.
Our Rating Methodology
NB Payday Loans is a referral and information service, not a direct lender. We connect borrowers with licensed payday lenders across New Brunswick who meet our standards for reliability, transparency, and customer service. Our ratings reflect how well each lender serves people in urgent financial situations—particularly those with all credit situations welcome.
Every lender we feature must be licensed to operate in New Brunswick and comply with provincial lending regulations. We do not rate, recommend, or partner with unlicensed operators or predatory services.
Key Rating Factors
- Speed of funding (e-Transfer delivery)
- Transparent fee disclosure
- Credit-inclusive policies
- Licensed and regulated
- Customer support availability
- Clear repayment terms
We prioritize lenders who fund quickly—ideally within one business day—because our users often face time-sensitive financial needs. We also favor those offering e-Transfer as a delivery method, which is secure and convenient for New Brunswick residents.
Transparency matters. We only recommend lenders who clearly disclose all fees, interest rates, and repayment schedules upfront. Hidden charges or vague terms are immediate disqualifiers.
We value lenders who explicitly welcome borrowers with all credit situations. A poor credit history should not be a barrier to accessing emergency funds, and our partners reflect that philosophy.
What We Do Not Rate
We do not rate or recommend:
- Unlicensed or unregulated lenders operating outside New Brunswick law
- Services that guarantee approval or promise unrealistic terms
- Lenders who refuse to disclose fees or interest rates before application
- Operations with persistent complaints about predatory practices
- Non-payday alternatives (installment loans, credit cards, etc.) unless directly relevant to a borrower's question
We also do not accept payment from lenders in exchange for higher ratings or featured placement. Our recommendations are based solely on merit and borrower benefit.
How We Stay Current
Lending regulations, lender policies, and borrower needs evolve. Our team reviews and updates ratings regularly to reflect changes in New Brunswick's regulatory environment and lender offerings. If you notice outdated information or a change in service quality, please contact us so we can investigate and update our guidance.

Responsible Borrowing
A high rating does not mean a payday loan is the right choice for every situation. Payday loans carry higher interest rates and are designed for short-term, emergency use only. Before borrowing, consider whether you can repay on schedule and whether alternative options—such as negotiating with creditors, seeking community assistance, or exploring government programs—might better serve your needs.
For guidance on responsible borrowing practices, see our Responsible Borrowing page.
